Dear or No Dear?

Today's virus lecture was given by one of the super FOBs! Last year Ina thought he was saying "amyloid" for half of the lecture, only to figure out it was "envelope" and be less confused as to why amyloid mattered in a virology lecture.

Funny quotes:

*after turning on projector* I guess it takes minute to warm up! Anything exciting in your lives other than the finals? You still like the grad school?

*after explaining some trimeric protein* Does that make any sense? You all understand? Dear or no dear? That's a TV show...you watch that?

Did anyone read the paper? No? Did anyone watch the game last night? Was there a game last night? You should have read paper. Just sleep? Ok.

*Explaining pseudotyping* Ok you have Virus A and Virus B. Let's say Virus A infects...I don't know...monkey. Virus B infects...can someone give me an animal? No? Hmmmm. How about business? Virus B infects business. Haha Monkey Business!

If Virus A has surface protein of Virus B, now Virus A infects business. It targets the CEOs! All CEOs are dead...now you are CEO!

All in all though, he didn't just read the slides, and I stayed awake. :)
