Rice Rows?

So, I was listening to the News & Notes Roundtable, like I do 5 days a week on podcast, because it's damn good and I like to hear about issues facing the African-American community with host Farai Chideya. ;)
The special one today was about the dominance of Korean-owned businesses in the African-American hair market. Groups like BOBSA are fightin' back.
A filmmaker named Aron Ranen made a documentary about it. You can watch all four parts on YouTube:

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

It's fascinating stuff, and reminds me of the local food vs. grocery store, or local business vs. Walmart, or local restaurant vs. chain dilemmas facing all of us. It's a little black&white (no pun intended) in the "koreans=bad, blacks=good" setup, but interesting nonetheless.
Enjoy! :)
